DigiPak and Magazine Advert Initial Ideas
The first magazine advert draft it a picture of the couple in a car park where they have stolen the trolly, this is one of the main locations from the music video. This helps it to directly link to the music video.
The secind idea is in a completely new location however in ties in very well with the theme of memories but it is not directly linked to the music video. But this is acceptable because the advert is in fact advertsing the whole album rather than just the individual song/music video.
With the DigiPak we have closely linked it to the second magazine advert because we felt that it kept the continuity. We have designed the inner pannels be close ups of the wall shown in the background of the second magazine advert and when you lift out the disc a train ticket is revealed. The train ticket is the main prop throughout the music video because it signifies that the boy is moving away. The track list is in the middle of a fairy light, its a close-up shot. This close up links to the lights that are hanging on the wall on the inside pannel pictures. The front cover is the same photo that is included in the magazine advert and we have included a band photo on the back pannel. This is a generic convention that you tend to see on CD covers.
