Applying Goodwins Theory (text 1)

Quite a few of Goodwin's theory points are included throughout the video. A relationship is definitely shown between the lyrics and the visuals because they are singing about how they are the best 'the one'. They are at a pool party showing that they are the main event.
The second point of his theory (relationship between music and visuals) is also demonstrated. Cross cutting and slow motion is used to mirror the beat of the song
The genre of the song is clearly reflected in the music video through stereotypical locations and clothes.
Voyeurism is used to objectify women throughout the video. All the men are gazing at the women and the women are wearing little clothing to emphasise this.
The final point of Goodwin's theory is clearly displayed throughout. The main 'star image' in this video is Justin Bieber as he is in most shots. Its shown  through the performance element in the video where he is miming the words. The focus of the video is on him.
