Applying Todorov and Propp's Theory (text1)
Applying Todorov
1) The equilibrium is that they were a happy married couple in a big house . You can tell that they are well off because of the shots we see of their house.
2) The event that causes the disruption is the fact that the husband is cheating on the wife with another woman.
3) This clearly causes the wife much sadness so she burns his belongings to get revenge.
4) She tries to resolve the problem by being very pleasant and doing things like making his breakfast before work.
5) There isn't really a new equilibrium but she acts like she doesn't know its going on to the husbands face. But she has a plan we see this through the smile she gives at the end of the music video.
Applying Propp
We only see three of his eight character types demonstrated in the music video.
Hero= The wife, she was trying to make the marriage work but he was being unfaithful behind her back .
Villain= The other woman. She is trying to oppose the quest of happy marriage by being with the husband.
Donor = the shop keeper who gives the petrol to the wife give the object that helps start the fire. Its no necessarily a magical object but it still helped.
